Welcome to our MSAP Course.
The MSAP (Medical School Application Preparation) course is designed for students who are 12-24 months away from starting their medical degree. We have designed this course to enable potential medical students understand how to approach their application. The course is focused to help international students but is also suitable for UK domestic candidates. Domestic students will be able to skip certain topics related to Module 2.
We believe applying for medicine, needs to be a thought-out process with a particular mindset, giving students the tools to navigate their way to the right school and onto the right program. Not all medical schools are the same and not all medical programs are the same. However, all UK medical degrees are recognised by the General Medical Council and graduating students all can work towards their medical licenses in exactly the same way.
Our course allows students to develop techniques by which they can create a strategic plan when applying, rather than simply choosing universities randomly and hoping their personal statement, if written passionately enough, will secure them an interview. Our course also provides insights and learning about the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), delving into topical issues and concepts that our doctors face on a day to day basis. This knowledge, provides the foundation for students to tackle MMI (multi mini interview) stations during their interview and gives them grounding when faced with panel interviews.
We are firm believers in students developing a mindset, as opposed to last minute cramming or memorising set questions. We do not advocate this type of learning and feel this puts students at a disadvantage. Medical schools never disclose their MMI station sets nor do they have stock questions during a panel interview. In fact, when you consider the number of students admissions tutors see each year, memorised questions or stock personal statements can sometimes be the very reason a student is excluded from the process.
