This module aims to get you thinking about your actual application. Aside from the usual information that you will be asked to provide, the application will allow you write something about yourself. This is often the most crucial aspect of the application.
Personal statements are required in almost all university applications. The key reason behind this is:
- Universities have limited places for any given course and they can’t give a place to everyone.
- Admissions tutors want to know why you are passionate about the subject you want to study.
- They want to know if you have ‘what it takes’ to succeed on the course.
- Universities need a way to differentiate who they would like to offer a place to, if all the applicants have the same grades.
